탭 브라우저로 유명한 Maxthon이 3월 20일에 새로운 베타 버전인 2.0.9.1545 버전을 발표하였다.

2.0.8 버전부터 인터넷 익스플로러의 IE 툴바 및 확장 기능을 지원하기 시작하였고, 이번 버전에서는 다음과 같은 점들이 개선되었다.

Find in Page Dialog¹
The new Find in Page shows the matches found, can move to next match with "+", or to the previous match with "-". User can also move to any match directly by clicking the extended dialog which shows all matches found.

Popup Blocker
Popup Blocker is significantly improved in this version. Since popup blocker became popular with XP SP2, advertisers now often open popups when a link or button is clicked to trick popup blockers that the popups are requested by user. In this version, user can add such popups to the popup blacklist by right click the tab and select "send to". The popup blacklist (and whitelist) can be edited in Tools > Maxthon Setup Center > Ad Hunter

Maxthon Downloader
The Maxthon Downloader introduced in the last version has been further enhanced. Now user can drag multiple links and drop to download. A status bar button has also been added to open the Maxthon Downloader tab and show the download status. To show this button, right click the status bar, select "Add or Remove Buttons", and select "Maxthon Downloader..."

Other Improvements and Fixes
Besides the above major changes, many features have also been fine tuned. e.g. Maxthon Guardian, Online Favorites, Maxthon Website Booster no longer require restart to effect. There is also change to Advanced Proxy so that changes will effect immediately. If any problem is encountered with proxy, please delete the ProxyConfig.xml inside your user profile or the SharedAccount (typical location is: C:\Program Files\Maxthon2\user@mail.com\Config\ProxyConfig.xml)

Maxthon Downloader

요전에 발표된 마이크로소프트 Internet Explorer 8 베타 버전의 표준 모드를 사용할 수 있는 옵션이 추가되었으나 자체적으로도 추천하지 않은 기능으로 표시되어 있고, 실제로도 문제를 일으키는 웹페이지들이 있기 때문에 당분간 사용하지 않는 것이 좋을 것 같다.

가급적 사용하던 버전은 깨끗하게 삭제(uninstall)하고 새로 설치하여 사용하는 것이 좋다.
