이번 버전의 주요 개선 사항은 아래와 같다.

될 수 있으면 사용하던 버전은 깨끗하게 삭제(uninstall)하고 새로 설치하여 사용하는 것이 좋다.

2.5.x 버전은 격주로 업데이트하여 발표한다고 밝힌 적이 있다.

이번 버전의 주요 개선 사항은 아래와 같다.

앞으로 2.5.x 버전을 격주로 업데이트하여 발표한다고 한다.

내가 즐겨 사용하는 무료 디스크 조각 모음 프로그램은 jkDefrag이다. 최신 버전은 3.36으로 작년(2008년) 8월 31일에 나온 것이다. 이후로 업데이트가 없었다. 그러더니 4.0 새 버전이 나왔다. 그러면서 이번에 이름을 MyDefrag로 바꿨다.

설치하면 예전과 달리 많은 실행 파일이 나타난다.


적당한 것을 잘 골라 쓰면 된다. 화면 보호기로도 사용할 수 있다. 설치 과정에서 설정해 주어도 된다.

네이버에서 무료로 베포하는 글꼴 인 나눔고딕의 개발자용 폰트로 나눔고딕코딩이 있다. 현재 버릴까 말까 하면서도 사실 마땅한 대안이 없어 나눔고딕과 나눔명조를 사용하고 있기 때문에 같이 사용하고 있기는 하다. 나눔 글꼴도 현재 상태에서 개선이 되지 않는다면 다른 글꼴로 가거나 그냥 기본 글꼴로 갈 가능성이 높다.

그건 그렇고, 오늘에야 나눔고딕코딩 글꼴이 2.0으로 업데이트된 것을 알았다. 6월 11일에 발표되었다.

글꼴을 변경하기 전에 작성한 문서를 글꼴을 변경한 후 다시 열어 비교한 것이다.

마지막 베타 버전의 주요 개선 사항은 아래와 같다.

참고로 이번 버전에서도 이전과 마찬가지로 많은 개선이 이루어졌다고 공지되었지만, 체감하는 기능에는 개선의 여지가 많다.

예전보다는 다양성이나 참신성이 많이 떨어지기는 했지만, 웹 브라우저인 Maxthon Browser 는 여러 플러그인(plugin) 을 제공한다. 내가 직접 만들어서 사용하는 것도 있을 만큼 브라우저의 확장성을 높여주는 좋은 도구이다. 최근에 More Scripts라는 새로운 플러그인이 나왔다.

이 플러그인의 특징은 아래와 같다.

- overcome IE limitation and able to run after refresh (hold shift to temporary bypass running)
- can run when webpage starts loading (for scripts operating "document" and "window" object)

위 그림에 있는 것과 같은 스트립트는 바로 사용할 수 있으며, 다른 곳에서 구하거나 자신이 만든 것은 이 목록에 추가해 사용하면 된다.

예를 들어, 아래는 YouTube(유튜브) 에 동영상 다운로드 링크가 만들어지는 예이다.


아래는 구글 이미지 검색 에서 결과 창의 동작 방법을 변경한 것이다. 원래는 결과 이미지를 클릭하면, 상하 두 개의 프레임으로 구성된 새로운 창이 열린다.


이 플러그인에서 해당 옵션을 활성화하면 검색 결과 창에서 원본 이미지를 팝업으로 확인할 수 있고, 원본 이미지가 담긴 페이지를 새 창으로 바로 열어서 볼 수 있다.


혹시 특정 스크립트를 활성화해도 제대로 작동하지 않는다면 아래 그림에 표시된 옵션을 확인한다.


이 옵션이 켜져있다면 끄고 사용한다.

참고로 이번 버전에서도 이전과 마찬가지로 많은 개선이 이루어졌다고 공지되었지만, 체감하는 기능에는 개선의 여지가 많다. 될 수 있는 한 베타 버전보다는 정식 버전을 사용하는 것이 좋다.

대표적인 가상화 솔루션의 하나이면서 오픈 소스 소프트웨어인 VirtualBox(버추얼박스) 가 2009월 6월 17일 자로 3.0 베타 1 버전이 나왔다.

• USB: Support for high-speed isochronous endpoints has been added. In addition, read-ahead buffering is performed for input endpoints (currently Linux hosts only). This should allow additional devices to work, notably webcams
• NAT: allow to configure socket and internal parameters
• Registration dialog uses Sun Online accounts now

VideoSpin은 Pinnacle 에서 판매하는 비디오 편집 프로그램인 Pinnacle Studio의 무료 버전이다. 상용 프로그램보다 기능이 떨어지기는 하지만, 몇 가지 쓸모있는 기능들을 포함하고 있어, 무료로 간단하게 동영상을 편집하기에는 적당한 프로그램이다. 대체로 Microsoft(마이크로소프트)의 Windows Movie Maker와 비슷하면서도 좀 더 다양한 효과를 줄 수 있는 것으로 알려져 있다.

대략 설치 시작 후 초기 화면까지의 과정은 아래와 같다.


설치와 사용은 한국어로도 가능하다. 활용 가능한 비디오 포맷은 .avi, mpg, .mpeg, .mod, .mp2, .mp4, .wmv 등이다. 이 중 MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX 등은 SpinPack이라고 하는 별도의 코덱 팩을 구매해 사용해야 한다.

Windows Movie Maker를 잘 사용하고 있다면, 굳이 갈아탈 필요는 없다. 조금이라도 다양한 기능을 더 추가하고 싶은 사용자들에게는 추천할만 하다.
