인터넷 익스플로러 9 RC(IE9 RC)를 설치한 후 인터넷 익스플로러에서는 괜찮은데, 웹 브라우저 크롬(크로뮴)에서  인터넷 익스플로러를 동시에 사용하기 위해 설치한 확장 프로그램(IE Tab, Chrome IE, Chrome IE Tab Multi 등)을 통해 IE 모드로 접속한 페이지에 플래시 파일들이 표시가 되지 않는다면, 플래시 플레이어를 다시 설치해 본다.

현재 최신 버전은 10.2.152.26이며, 이미 설치가 되어 있어도 다시 설치해 본다.

Adobe Flash Player는 플래시가 적용된 각종 구성 요소를 확인하기 위해서는 반드시 필요한 프로그램이다. 이러한 필요성에 비해 프로그램이 무겁고 자원도 많이 소모하는 경향이 있어 요즘 말이 많기도 하다.

아무튼, 인터넷 익스플로러용으로 사용하는 Adobe Flash Player를 설치해야 하는 상황에서 아래와 같은 경고 문구가 계속되면서 설치가 되지 않을 때가 있다.

이 문제는 아래와 같은 방법으로 해결할 수 있다.

우선 레지스트리 편집기(regedit)를 실행한다.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\FlashPlayer 항목으로 간 다음, 그 아래 있는 SafeVersions 폴더를 지운다.


레지스트리 편집기를 닫고 Flash Player(플래시 플레이어) 설치를 다시 시도한다.

XP, Vista, 7 공통 사항이다.

현재 Flash Player의 공식 최신 버전은 10.0.45.2 이지만, 새로운 베타 버전인 10.1.51.95가 2010년 2월 23일자로 공개되었다.

이번 버전에서 바뀐 점은 아래와 같다.

정식 버전을 쓰던 사람들보다는 이전 베타 버전을 쓰던 사람은 바로 업데이트하는 것이 좋을 것 같다.

구글 크롬(Chrome) 으로 웹 페이지를 볼 때 해당 페이지에 플래시 파일이 있다면 플러그인을 설치하도록 하는 메시지가 나타난다. 이 메시지에 따라 플러그인을 설치해도 플래시 파일이 보이지도 않고, 매번 플러그인 설치를 안내하는 문구를 보여줄 때가 있다.

이때에는 Adobe 사이트 를 방문해서 Flash Player를 직접 다운로드하여 설치하면 된다.

PDA에서 PDF 파일을 보려면 해당 버전의 Adobe Reader를 설치하면 된다(관련글: [PDA] Adobe Reader for Pocket PC 2.0(2005. 12. 12.)) 이 프로그램은 2005년에 나왔지만 Windows Mobile 5(WM5) 버전에서도 잘 작동한다. 아직도 한글 버전은 없지만 영문 버전에서도 한글은 잘 보이니 그대로 사용하면 된다.

이와 함께 플래시(flash) 파일(.swf)을 보려면 이번에는 해당 버전의 플레이어를 설치해야 한다.

Adobe Reader는 PDA를 PC에 연결 후 PC에서 설치 프로그램을 돌려야 하지만, Flash Player는 CAB 파일이므로 PDA로 복사한 후 PDA에서 실행해 설치해야 한다.

이 프로그램은 단독으로 실행해 플래시 파일을 보는 것이 아니라 PDA의 Internet Explorer(인터넷 익스플로러) 내에서 플래시 파일을 볼 수 있도록 해준다.

내가 사용하는 플래시 파일 재생 전용 프로그램은 "Bryht Flash Player"이다. 2.0이 최신 버전인데 2005년에 마지막 업데이트가 있었고 이후 업데이트 소식은 없다.

원래 Pocket PC 2002와 Windows Mobile 2003용이지만 WM5에서도 문제없이 잘 돌아간다. 상용 프로그램이며 이 프로그램을 사용하기 위해서는 위의 Macromedia Flash Player가 일단 설치되어 있어야 한다. 설치 순서는 상관 없다.
