현재 내가 사용 중인 PDA폰인 블루버드의 BM-500 기종은 운영 체제가 Windows Mobile 5.0(WM5)이기 때문에 공식적으로는 miniSD 카드가 HC 방식이면 2GB, 비HC 방식이면 4GB까지 사용할 수 있다. 4GB miniSDHC를 사용하려면 별도의 패치를 해주어야 한다. 4GB 정도만 해도 충분하다는 사람들이 많기는 하지만, 지원되는 용량이 더 컸으면 하는 것이 사용자들의 바람이다.
한동안 8GB를 사용할 수 있도록 해주는 패치를 찾아보기도 했지만, 일단은 포기한 상태였다. 그런데 반가운 글을 하나 찾았다.

더 고무적인 것은 이 글에 달린 댓글들이다. 다양한 기기에서 성공했다는 것이다. 이제 WM5 단말기에서도 8GB를 사용할 수 있을 것 같다. 서둘러 새 카드를 주문했다. 도착하면 바로 확인해 볼 예정이다. 안 되면 같이 주문한 리더기로 USB 메모리 대용으로라도 써야겠다.

PDA의 화면을 잠그고 화면 보호기 형태로 사용하는 프로그램 중 인기를 끄는 것으로 "Slide 2 UnLock 2"(줄여서 S2U2)가 있다. 원래 있던 S2U의 새로운 개선판이다(관련 글: [Slide 2 UnLock] 아이폰(iPhone) 스타일의 PDA 화면 잠금 프로그램[2007. 9. 8.]). 아이폰(iPhone) 스타일이고 다소 실용적인 기능이 포함되어 쓸모가 있다. 2007년 11월 9일자로 0.80으로 업데이트된 후 숨가쁘게 업데이트되다가 11월 20일 0.86이 나오고 거의 한 달만에 0.95버전이 나왔다. 이전 버전이 설치된 상태에서 바로 설치할 수 있으며 이전에 사용하던 환경을 그대로 가져온다. 단, 배경 그림만 프로그램의 기본 파일로 바뀌게 되므로 필요하다면 이것만 교체해 주면 된다. 크게 움직이는 GIF 파일을 이용해 배경에 동적 이미지를 지정할 수 있고, 날씨 정보를 화면에 보여주는 기능이 추가되었다.

한글을 비롯한 몇 가지 언어 팩도 같이 나왔다. 필요하면 다운로드하여 사용할 수 있다. 프로그램 배포 페이지에서 비영어권을 위한 언어 팩을 내려받은 후 쓰고자 하는 언어 설정 파일(예: lang.korean.ini)의 이름을 lang.ini로 바꿔 S2U2 폴더에 복사해 주면 된다.3
