탭 브라우저로 유명한 Maxthon이 6월 27일에 새로운 베타 버전인 2.1.2.589 버전을 발표했다.

이번 버전의 주요 개선 사항은 아래와 같다.

- fixed security issues arising from an IE WebBrowser Control vulnerability

[accessories]
- fixed problem that favorites are not imported when online favorites service is disabled
- fixed problems relating to system directories, like send to desktop
- fixed slow Maxthon exit problem under some circumstances

[find in page]
- can use up/down arrow or mousewheel to scroll through matches
- the input field will be highlight if no match is found
- fixed problem that match result dialog sometimes empty
- fixed problem that skin settings are not used

- fixed a crash problem of AutoUpdate when DEP is enabled
- added a print page setup menu command (have to reset menu bar)

가급적 사용하던 버전은 깨끗하게 삭제(uninstall)하고 새로 설치하여 사용하는 것이 좋다.

2.0.8 버전부터 인터넷 익스플로러의 IE 툴바 및 확장 기능을 지원하기 시작하였고, 이번 버전의 가장 큰 특징은 플러그인 바(plugin bar)가 없어진 점이다.

2.0.8 버전부터 인터넷 익스플로러의 IE 툴바 및 확장 기능을 지원하기 시작하였고, 이번 버전의 가장 큰 특징은 페이지 내 찾기 기능을 상단에 도구 막대(tool bar)로 변형한 것이다. 기능이 보완되었다고 하고 있으나 아직은 불편하다. Vista(비스타)에서는 문제가 없는데 XP에서 실행할 때마다 ntdll.dll 파일과 관련된 오류가 나타나 사용할 수 없다. 바로 이전 버전은 이런 오류가 발생하지 않는데 아직 다른 보고가 없는 것으로 봐서 내 시스템에 국한된 문제로 보인다.

내가 PC에 설치해서 사용하는 지도 프로그램은 알맵 과 홀씨 이다.

꽤 오래 전부터 사용하고 있어지만 그간 차량 내비게이션 소프트웨어나 기기의 발전과 보급 정도로 보았을 때 PC용은 그만큼의 성장이 없었던 것 같다.

오늘 아래과 같은 기사를 보았다.

투데이, "PC용 무료배포 네비게이션S/W 아틀란", TODAYSPPC, 2008. 5. 30.

차량용 내비게이션으로 개발된 최신의 소프트웨어를 PC용으로 무료 배포한다는 내용이고, 해당 프로그램에 대한 리뷰였다.

파인드라이브(FineDrive) 의 아틀란(Atlan)을 PC에서 사용할 수 있도록 했다. 다음 링크에서 설치 프로그램을 다운로드하는 Atlan Downloader를 받을 수 있다.

실행 후 설치 파일을 다운받아 저장할 폴더를 지정해주면 약 2GB짜리 설치 프로그램을 받을 수 있다. 이를 실행하면 해당 프로그램이 설치된다.

Windows XP나 Vista에서 리눅스(Linux)용 애플리케이션을 사용할 수 있게 해주는 무료 프로그램이다.

얼마 전에 "[이지티비(EasyTV)] TV 카드 없이 인터넷으로 KBS, MBC, SBS 한 번에 고화질로 시청하기(2008. 2. 16.) "라는 글을 통해 P2P형 TV 시청 프로그램인 이지티비 를 소개한 적이 있다. 이 프로그램은 기술적으로 당나귀TV(DonkeyTV) 와 같다.

처음 소개한 글에서 보는 바와 같이 KBS, MBC, SBS로 시작한 이 프로그램은 이제는 처음에 없던 EBS 하나만 남겨 두게 되었다. 저작권 때문인데 프로그램 제작사 공지 사항에서 확인할 수 있다 .
